    Definitely a terrific deal, April 24, 2015

I’ve been using 1D bodies for many years and decided to give the 7D Mark II a try because of its high frame rate and quiet shutter/mirror mechanism, high resolution sensor, build quality and small size (compared with the 1D Mark III, Mark IV). Bottom line: this is a terrific camera! The menu system and physical usability are outstanding and a solid step up from the older cameras I have. Image quality is outstanding. Focusing is excellent. So far (only 1500 shots or so) I have no complaints.

I’m extremely pleased with the Focus package (purchased through Amazon). I really wanted the battery grip and the Focus package was the only one that offered it. The included SD card is more than enough for recording HD video and holds tons of Raw images. I was surprised that everything in the package was useful for me, which is saying a lot as I’ve already got a lot of gear.

I recommend this package highly. As a bonus, delivery only took 2 days even though I didn’t use Amazon Prime. I’m really happy.

Better deal than buying the camera body alone. Great Cannon battery grip and extra batteries with charger and 64GB memory card!, August 5, 2015

Great deal for the price considering two things:

    A) The body as of 8/1/2015 is now sale price $1499.00. It will go back up to $1799.00 soon so to get a package kit for $1619.00 with a Canon battery grip that’s $199.00 stand alone. I say HAAAZZZAAAA!

    B) Did I mention it comes with a $200.00 battery grip that’s made for the 7d Mark ii? Getting this kit you save $80.00 alone on the battery grip!

What’s good in the kit: Camera (rocks for a APS-C camera), battery grip with two extra pretty decent Focus batteries. The memory card is a class 10, 40 r/w card that works fine and would cost around $20-25 alone.

What’s just ok: the bag because it doesn’t have enough space for a 7d Mark ii with battery grip on without it bulging.(?!?!) The other stuff is just basic camera chingaderas. The hand strap sucks but it’s the thought that counts I guess. A cleaning kit is cool, lens cleaning pen, and air blaster is included. All the things advertised were delivered.

Now for the Canon 7d Mark ii Review:

I’m a pro and use this as a second rig for portrait work and event photography. I use another full frame Canon as well with a nice selection of lenses.
This camera in a nut shell is great for it’s auto focus system, action photos, portrait photos , processors and it’s HD video capabilities. It’s built like a war horse and it’s a bit heavier then the original 7D.Lots of weather proofing on this bad boy and yes, with the battery grip and bigger lens this is a heavy rig. Photography isn’t for wimps though. (That grip rocks)

Love the ISO and don’t have any issues with it. Sure it only goes up to 16,000 but go buy a 1.8 or 1.4 lens if you’re going to do lots of low light work. I use 2.8 or below so just go that road and you should have little issue. If you want higher ISO then go spend more money on something else. If you want full frame then go buy something else.

The auto focus system is simply put “AMAZING.”

I’ve never used a camera that has a focus system that’s as precise and fast as this. It blew me away from shot one and once I shot some moving video I was beyond impressed. If you loved the original 7d then this is a must as a top of the line APS-C sensor rig. So many focus points and fun ways to custom function this bad boy out.

I’m giving it five instead of four because Focus shipped this to me overnight from the east coast to the west coast free of charge. It was Amazon two day delivery and they overnighted it. Thank you focus camera for the great deal.

Great price for the bundle, February 13, 2016

The camera itself is an amazing camera. The decision for me was between the 6D, 5Diii, or the 7Dii. The features of the 7Dii in comparison to the other two, for the cost is truly amazing. The 5Diii should be on its way out soon, so I couldn’t justify spending the extra money on a camera that is on its way out, despite how good it is. There are tons of videos on the camera on line by professionals, so I’m not going to get into much detail about the specific features. My background, a father of five, amateur photographer moving up from a 40D. I was disappointed in the performance of my 40D at Christmas when I went to take pictures of the kids opening presents and found that the room that was lit with sunlight from two large windows wasn’t enough to get me a photo, with a high enough shutter and low enough ISO to look decent. I ended up using my iPhone as did much better in the “low” light. The low light performance of the 7Dii coupled with the blazing shutter speed make this a great camera for capturing family memories from blowing out candles to running around the back yard. On top of that, I can continue my growth as a photographer working on my family, landscape, wildlife and even some portrait stuff.

Regarding the bundle, the main items that add value are the battery grip, extra batteries and the SD card. The other items are okay. The bag is too flimsy to feel comfortable putting my camera and lenses in it. Maybe if it were one of the rebel cameras I’d be satisfied. I’m currently using a $200+ Tamrac that I’ve owned for about 5 years, so that is what I’m basing my comparison on. The hand strap I wouldn’t use but I did put it on to see how it fit and it didn’t fit the bottom of the camera very well. It will stay on it, but it is clear it is not designed and molded to fit the bottom of the 7Dii. As I get time, I’ll update the review with photos to support the comments. The other items from Focus all seem fine and add value, but they are not why I purchased the bundle.

My only complaint, is that I didn’t have the money to purchase it at the end of the year when everyone was selling the 7Dii for $300-400 less. Haha!
